Down Under Live is to return to the SECC in Glasgow on 12 and 13 October. The UK’s largest emigration and jobs expo will give visitors the opportunity to find out more about making a new home in countries like New Zealand, Australia and Canada. New Zealand is currently crying out for skilled migrants to help with the massive rebuild programme in Christchurch.

Most of those looking to emigrate to New Zealand and Australia will be doing so for a better quality of life and improved job prospects. It is estimated that nearly 490,000 people emigrated to another country from the UK in 2012.

Down Under Live will provide visitors with detailed information on every aspect of starting a new life abroad including where to find the best schools and how to ship goods safely. There will also be a host of employers and recruiters offering hundreds of job opportunities as well as emigration experts with advice on how to deal with any emigration issues.

As well as jobs in earthquake damaged Christchurch, it is estimated that around 500,000 skilled workers are needed to fill vacancies in Western Australia because of the resource boom.

Canada is also an attractive prospect with thousands of jobs going in provinces like Alberta in the mineral and oil industries.
